  1. Tell Us about yourself:

My name is De’ Ephraim-Manuel, I am a model and actor from Houston, TX.

I have been living in Los Angeles on and off for about 7 yrs. Now

I identify as sexually fluid. Yes, I do live under a rock, but it’s a 5 star rock and I come out more often than most think ;-)

I love music, all kinds. You call me a connoisseur of music. I love animals. I love helping others, and the joy that it brings to the both of us.

2. How did you get involved with Revolution In Color?

I got involved with Revolution In Color through my friend Percival.

I had been looking for ways of helping others and doing outreach that didn’t involve me bringing people in, opening myself up to bad situations with those I was trying to help. Percy told me about the group of young men doing community work and invited me to a Core Group meeting. After that first meeting I knew that this would be a good start of a transition into outreach work from a more professional vantage point.

3. What would you like people to know about RevInColor and why they should get involved?

Revolution in Color is an intriguing group to be a part of. I’ve met so many educated, proactive community leaders. People in which I would not have the opportunity to cross paths with under my rock.

I love seeing young brown and black men doing beneficial things for our communities, and stepping into the leadership roles of bringing much need essential services to those in need in any undeserved atmosphere.

4. How do you take care/manage your overall health? Physical and mental

Physical: I keep cardiovascular activities in my daily routine and I push myself to hit the gym at least 3 times a week.

If I can get somewhere by walking, I will walk. Can’t be lazy, that won’t keep you healthy and fit for sure.

I’m a real fatty at heart, I LOVE FOOD! So understanding that about myself, I just add in fruits and Veggies to my everyday diet. I was always told by my mother, “PUT SOMETHING GREEN ON YOUR PLATE” and even till this day, I hear her voice in my head when I don’t have enough green ( fruits or veggies) on my plate.

As far as building muscle, I make sure that any day that I workout, i’ll intake my body weight in protein, to help repair and rebuild the muscles that I work out.

For Example: if you weigh 160, you should intake at least 160 grams of protein to repair and rebuild muscles for muscle growth.

Mentally: In addition to the endorphin's that your body produces while working out that make you happy I stay connected to God PERSONALLY for guidance, and I try to surround myself with equal or greater minds than my own to keep me in a positive, motivated mindset.

I don’t have many friends, but like the old saying goes “less is more”.

5. How does your self-care impact your sexual health?

I definitely value myself and my temple (my body) so much more.

I mean, why build a magnificent Empire of oneself just to not properly take care of it. Sex is too easily obtainable nowadays, and to me easy does not always equal good.

I want to stay sexually healthy, so sexual health is an open topic for myself and anyone I may want to be sexual with.

6. What’s one piece of motivation (general motivation, this can be in any facet of life) that you can provide to readers?

I know that times can get really rough, trust me, I KNOW.

We all go through it at some point or another, just remember, God doesn’t make mistakes, neither does he create trash.

Don’t let rough times break you, be strong, be wise, and learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others. Do more than just learn. APPLY that new found knowledge next time you find yourself in a rough patch in life.

Be your own competition. Do Better FOR YOURSELF not for the praise of others.
